Patchouli Essential Oil is a very useful essential oil – it has been believed for centuries to prevent the spread of disease and is an antidote to poisonous snakebites.  As well as used to treat colds, headaches, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and bad breathe.  Patchouli Essential Oil helps with acne, athlete’s food, cracked and chapped skin, dermatitis, eczema, fungal infections, hair care, hair loss, oily hair and skin, open pores, sores, and wrinkles.  It is an antidepressant, anti-inflammatory, anti-emetic (nausea/vomiting), antimicrobial (keeps bacteria from growing), antiphlogistic (reduces inflammation/fever), antiseptic (prevents growth of infection), antitoxic (neutralizes toxins/poisons), antiviral (inhibits virus growth), aphrodisiac (increases sexual desire), astringent  (constricts tissue), bactericidal (kills bacteria), carminative (prevents formation of gas), deodorant, digestive, diuretic, febrifuge (reduces fever), fungicidal, nervine (helps nervous system), prophylactic (defends/protects from disease), stimulant (nervous), stomachic, and tonic.  Excellent oil — with many uses!

Description: Patchouli essential oil is derived from the perennial busy herb plant.  This plant has sturdy…hairy stems and leaves.  It also grows pretty little white flowers with a tinge of purple.  The oil is distilled from dried leaves.

Blends well with: Sandalwood, Bergamot, Cedarwood, Clove, Lavender, Oakmoss, Rose, Orange, Cassia, Myrrh, Cassia, and Clary Sage.

Aromatic Scent: Patchouli has a sweet, rich, earthy odor – and the smell is like a fine wine…it gets better with age!
